March Diaconate Offering: Shady Grove Pregnancy Center
The March Deacons’ Offering is designated for the Shady Grove Pregnancy Center, which is a local non-profit that supports women navigating crisis pregnancies. They provide pregnancy testing, options counseling, sonograms, parenting classes, material assistance, and community referrals, all at no cost to the clients they serve. This vital assistance is made feasible by the support of churches and individuals who value the sanctity of life and the dignity of each person, like Shady Grove. Please pray a) how the Lord would lead you to give, b) for those in crisis to discover the pregnancy center, and c) for the center to equip them with the necessary resources.
Sunday School classes Spring 2025
Beginning Sunday, March 2, there will be three Sunday School classes offered from 9:30-10:30:
Rest and Contentment: Tammy Jones is facilitating a women’s class in room 13 using two devotional books: Rest: Creating Space for Soul Refreshment and Contentment: Seeing God’s Goodness. This class will include discussion from the weekly devotionals and prayer together.
The Resurrection: Chris Kinsinger and Gene Sohn are teaching a class in room 10/11 on the history, theology, implications, and applications of the Resurrection of the Son of God, based on the book Surprised by Hope by N. T. Wright.
The Psalms: Pastor Baile, Scott Melson and Jeff Klenk, are conducting a Survey of the Psalms in the sanctuary covering lament, imprecatory, wisdom, creation, penitent, ascent, historical, & messianic Psalms. They will also explore principles for how to read this poetic genre of literature and look at practical applications of singing and praying the Psalms.
Shady Grove Women – Resurrection Gardens
Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 5. The women will be designing Resurrection Gardens to use as centerpieces for our homes as we celebrate the upcoming Easter season. As others come to your mind, consider who you may invite to join you for this creative event on Saturday, April 5, 10 am-noon at the church.
New Women’s Study Starting Soon
The Tuesday/Thursday Place For You women’s Bible study begins a new study next week. Luke in the Land by Kristi McLelland, begins Tuesday morning March 25 at 9:30 am, and Thursday, March 20, 7-9 pm. Kristi will “challenge the way you read the accounts of Jesus’s life and ministry in this 7-session Bible study.” Books are available for purchase today in the narthex. Contact the church office or check the Women’s Ministry page for more information.
Men’s Bible Study
The men meet weekly on Saturdays for bible study from 9:00-10:30am in the hospitality room next to the kitchen. Please join us as we study the book of Genesis led by Pastor Baile and Steve Lee. Please let Pastor Baile know if you plan to attend.

SG Children’s Ministry is Going Bowling!
Get ready to don some attractive bowling shoes and show your skills at the Mt. Airy Bowling Lanes! Sat, March 15, 10-noon, David Lee will be sharing pizza and knocking down duckpins. This event is open to families with children ages 3-12. The cost includes food, drinks, as well as (borrowing) those attractive shoes! Sign up today!
