On Saturday, October 31 at 9:45am, Shady Grove kids, their families, and friends are invited to enjoy feeding animals, a hayride, and pumpkin picking at Sharp’s Farm at Waterford in Brookville, MD. This event is free! Please RSVP by October 16th.
Gene Sohn and Chris Kinsinger will teach Carl Trueman’s latest book, The Desecration of Man, in room 10/11 while Russ Rushton and Kris Marcantonio will lead a study through Jerry Bridges’ classic work, Trusting God in room 13.

Interested in learning more about our church, the Presbyterian denomination, and how things work at Shady Grove? Join us for the Inquirers’ Class, a seven-week series meeting during the Sunday School hour beginning Sunday, October 11. Pastor Charlie Baile will lead the class in his office. Our annual church picnic is Sunday, October 4, at Ridge Road Recreational Park in Germantown. We will meet for worship at 10:00am at the church and gather at the pavilions for lunch to be served at noon.
Please note: there will be no Sunday school that day. Worship service will begin at 10:00 am.
Come and join us on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays at 7:00pm at Pastor Baile’s home, or on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays from 7:45-8:45pm at the church, for a time of fellowship, community, and in-depth study of God’s Word. Ladies, join us Tuesday mornings for a time of prayer before the Bible Study class. Come for as much or as little of the prayer time as your schedule allows. We’ll meet in the church lobby to encourage one another, share our needs, and bring them before the Lord in prayer. We’d love to have you join us!
The Place 4 You women’s group is now studying the book of Hebrews using Jen Wilkin’s Bible study. Classes meet on Tuesdays at 9:30am (hospitality room) and 7:00pm (room 9, middle school room). It’s not too late to join! Study books will be available in each class for $20. Register in person or through the Women’s Ministry page.

The weekly Saturday morning men’s Bible study is going through the book of I Peter. The group meets in the hospitality room from 9-10:30am on Saturdays. Contact Steve Lee for information.
Johnnie Shaffer is leading a men’s study on Tuesday evenings beginning September 22 at the church from 7-8:30pm studying Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology: An Introduction to Biblical Doctrine. This is a great opportunity for fellowship and to learn the essential doctrines of the Christian faith in a more readable way. From chapter one of the book, Grudem states that “systematic theology answers the question, what does the whole bible teach us today about any given topic?” Contact Johnnie Shaffer with questions.
Beginning this Sunday, the 2–5-year-olds class will be learning from The Beginner’s Gospel, while our 6yo-4th grade class will be walking through The Biggest Story. We have an excellent team of teachers ready to lead these classes and we are excited to see how the Lord will work through these lessons to teach His truth and work in the hearts of our children.
Rockville Women’s Center is a Christ-centered nonprofit in our area that provides free medical care, ultrasounds, parenting classes, material support, and compassionate counseling to women facing unplanned pregnancies. Their team walks alongside women and families with practical help and the hope of the gospel in a safe, professional setting. This September, our designated deacon’s offering will support their vital ministry of life-affirming care here in Montgomery County. A check may be written to the church with this designation written in the notes line, or an online donation can be made and specified to be contributed to the deacon’s offering.
Where did all my money go? Come learn what the Bible says about budgeting, saving, giving, and making your money behave! Join us at the Baile’s home (202 Oakton Road, Gaithersburg) on Thursday, September 17, at 7:00 pm as Jim Stewart, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Deacon at our church, shares with us how we can build a strong financial foundation rooted in God’s Word. There will be time for Q&A.
